Job Summary:
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Open Heart (PICU OH) is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join a high-acuity, fast-paced unit specializing in congenital heart disease, surgical congenital heart defects, heart failure, arrhythmias, transplants, and ventricular assist devices. The selected candidate will provide specialized care to neonatal through young adult patients, including occasional adult congenital heart disease cases. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment dedicated to complex pediatric cardiac cases.

Job Details:

• Location: Austin, TX
• Shift Schedule: Days, 12 hours shift with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), a minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care (CVICU) experience in a high-acuity setting, and 2 years of experience in pediatric cardiology ICU.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with congenital heart disease, surgical congenital heart defects, transplant, VAD/Berlin, and neonatal to young adult patient populations.
• Additional Information: The unit functions as a stand-alone, high-acuity cardiovascular department with a patient ratio of 1:1, 1:2 for ICU status, and 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU cases. The patient demographic includes neonatal through young adult, with occasional adult congenital heart disease patients.
