We are committed to safety, quality, and operational excellence.We are hiring an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Chicago, IL location on 1st shift (6am -- 2pm).Job SummaryUnder minimal supervision, performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and rebuild work on all plant equipment, including high-speed envelope production and ancillary equipment, while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. Utilizes advanced mechanical expertise to diagnose complex issues, execute equipment rebuilds, and support continuous operation of manufacturing systems. Support equipment improvements as assigned. Electrical and PLC experience is a plus.Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to install, maintain, and repair plant equipmentTroubleshoot equipment issues and assist production personnel with diagnostics and repairsOperate machine shop equipment, including mills, lathes, drill presses, welding, and cutting toolsDiagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues and perform necessary repairs or installationsMonitor, schedule, and document preventive maintenance activities to ensure reliable equipment operationResearch, source, and requisition replacement parts and materials as neededPerform required facility and equipment safety inspections/maintenance as requiredFollow safety procedures and complete required documentationPerform other duties as assigned based on business needsPay & Work ScheduleHourly Rate: $25 -- 28/hr (based on experience)Schedule: Monday -- Friday; Saturdays required during peak production or as business needs dictateJob RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred3+ years of hands on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (printing, envelope, or paper converting preferred)Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsExperience maintaining high speed production equipment and performing preventive maintenanceWorking knowledge of industrial electrical systems; PLC troubleshooting preferredAbility to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsStrong mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety, quality, and accuracyBasic computer skills for maintenance documentationReliable, self directed, and able to work independently with minimal supervisionFlexibility to work overtime and alternate shifts as requiredPhysical Requirements & Work EnvironmentFrequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and working in confined or elevated areasAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and push or pull equipment as neededRequires strong manual dexterity and frequent use of hands and toolsMust have adequate vision, including color recognition, depth perception, and close visual focusExposure to industrial noise, moving machinery, inks, solvents, adhesives, dust, and temperature variationsWork performed around high speed equipment, electrical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic componentsRequired to wear PPE including safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, and gloves as applicableMust remain alert and attentive to safely perform functions for a full shiftCenveo is an EEO Employer
