What You'll Do

  • Provide respiratory care treatments, including oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to patients from neonatal to geriatric age groups
  • Monitor and wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation
  • Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and perform EKGs
  • Assist with changing artificial airways and providing ordered services under physician guidance
  • Document all clinical information accurately and thoroughly
  • Educate patients and team members on procedures and treatment plans
  • Perform diagnostic procedures as required
  • Maintain professional certifications and stay current with technical procedures

What You Need

  • Required:
    • Valid license as a Respiratory Therapist in Louisiana
    • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
    • Certification through the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
    • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
    • Knowledge of Windows applications and data entry skills
  • Preferred:
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for NICU roles
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience
