BI/SQL Developer

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a highly collaborative SQL Developer / Business Intelligence Developer to support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives across Payroll and HR functions for a client of ours. This individual will be responsible for the full lifecycle of report development, from gathering business requirements and translating functional needs into technical solutions, through development, testing, deployment, and production support. The role will work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand reporting needs, document requirements, create data models, develop ETL processes, and build custom reporting solutions using SQL, Snowflake, and Power BI. 70% SQL Development, Data Modeling, ETL Development, and Report Creation / 30% Business Analysis, Requirements Gathering, Documentation, Stakeholder Management, Testing, and Report Iteration The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing custom reports directly from source tables when existing semantic models do not meet business requirements. They will leverage Snowflake as the reporting repository and data lake while working with Oracle and Azure-based data warehouse environments. This person will partner with functional Payroll and HR teams through multiple development iterations, gathering feedback, modifying reports, supporting UAT efforts, and helping ensure accurate and meaningful reporting solutions are delivered to the business. Familiarity with Snowflake Experience building or supporting ETL/data integration processes. Strong experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions in Power BI. Experience with data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and reporting architecture. Ability to gather business requirements, create documentation, and translate functional needs into technical solutions. Experience working directly with both business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the development lifecycle. Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Experience supporting report testing, validation, UAT, deployment, and production support - will have a team to assist with this as well Familiarity with Payroll and HR business processes, terminology, and reporting requirements. Experience working with Oracle databases; exposure to Azure-based data warehouse environments is preferred. Experience with CGI Advantage 4.0 ERP reporting environments. Experience building reports when standard semantic models do not meet business needs. Previous experience supporting government, public sector, payroll, or HR-focused reporting initiatives.
