Nursing Unit Manager

Under direction of the Nurse Manager, is delegated certain responsibilities and authority for managing a nursing unit. These responsibilities are coordinating, evaluating and improving nursing care and assisting the Nurse Manager in promoting safe, cost effective, quality patient care. Assigns patient care to staff. Acts as liaison between the patient, family and physician. Develops leadership/managerial role. Participates in Service Excellence Program.

Education:

• Graduated from an accredited Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, or higher.
• BSN preferred.

Licensure:

• Current unrestricted RN license required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI) may be required based on unit specialty.

Experience:

• Two to three years of clinical nursing experience. Specialty experience may be required based on unit/department (e.g., OR, ICU, ED).
• Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred.

Pay range - $43.40 - $59.68 Plus, Shift Differentials

FTE: 0.9 Primary Shift: Rotating, will discuss during interview Benefits and Commitment Bonus eligible This full-time role follows a rotating schedule, with hours divided among clinical duties, administrative leadership responsibilities, and unit-based support. Flexibility is essential, as leadership coverage is required across shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.
