Job Description

Position Title : Staff Accountant

Join a growing, creative marketing agency where accounting plays a critical role in keeping the business moving. We are seeking a Staff Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, and support billing, reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close. This is a hybrid opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys ownership, variety, and working closely with both internal teams and an external accounting partner.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, strong QuickBooks Online and Excel skills, and the ability to work independently while remaining collaborative, approachable, and solutions-focused. Experience within an advertising, marketing, creative, PR, media, or professional services environment is highly valued.

Salary Range : $60,000 – $75,000 / Year DOE

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and accurate, organized accounting records
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, review transactions, and ensure expenses are properly classified
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including recurring client billing and high-volume billable activity
• Help ensure monthly client billing, including advertising spend and related expenses, is accurate and completed on time
• Enter and review payroll information, respond to accounting-related emails, and handle day-to-day financial requests
• Assist with month-end close and partner closely with the company's external accounting firm on monthly and quarterly financials
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen efficiency, and support the company as it continues to grow

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional accounting experience
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel
• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• Experience within an advertising, marketing, creative, PR, or media agency is a plus, particularly with media billing, production costs, markups, and expenses
• Experience in consulting or other professional services environments will also be considered
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage recurring deadlines independently
• Collaborative, positive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively in a small accounting function
