Remote Intermediate Mechanical Engineer (Bridgewater)

We are looking to add an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to our Engineering team in Vancouver. Reporting to the Team Lead – Mechanical, this role is responsible for creating and modifying 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings. An ideal candidate will be a detail‑oriented self‑starter who enjoys developing innovative solutions. Job Responsibilities Collaborate with other design team members to create drawings, modify and/or create 3D parametric models and assemblies with SolidWorks. Perform engineering changes and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) to achieve project goals. Design machines, equipment and systems, considering cost, material availability, strength, maintenance requirements, appearance and impact on the user and environment. Create and review technical drawings for clarity, fit, views, dimensioning and conformance to company/ASME Y14.5M design and drawing standards. Test and analyze the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems. Undertake and participate in design reviews. Interface with vendors, suppliers and fabricators to execute procurement of parts. Create product launch documentation including assembly and manufacturing procedures. Fabricate and assemble prototypes and products as required. Perform additional duties as occasionally required by the manager. Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline is required. Generally 2‑4+ years of experience in a product development environment. Product design experience with SolidWorks (industrial products preferred); other CAD/drafting experience will be considered. Experience within mining or oil and gas is an asset. Knowledgeable about material selection for end products. Ability to translate product and project requirements into engineering specifications and deliverables. Demonstrated ability to run tests, including instrumentation, data collection and analysis, and correlate results with analytical findings. Experience in design of welded and sheet metal parts. Experience with static and dynamic FEA is an asset. Experience with vibration analysis and vibration‑damping design is an asset. Knowledge of BOMs, change orders and ERP/MRP systems. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working independently and as part of a team. Hands‑on fabrication, assembly and maintenance capability. Experience working with Microsoft 365. Health & safety conscious. Legally able to work in Canada. $90,000 - $100,000 a year.
