Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a dynamic ICU unit that primarily cares for neuro patients. This position requires a commitment to the highest standards of patient care, flexibility in scheduling, and proficiency in managing complex patient cases.

Qualifications

Current California RN License
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification
Minimum of 3 years of RN experience in an ICU setting
Strong experience with neuro patients is essential
Experience with Epic charting system is required

Schedule and Floating

This position requires the registered nurse to work every other weekend and as needed based on unit demands. There may also be a need to float to other units or campuses depending on census needs, with a notice typically provided 1.5 hours prior to the shift start time. A shuttle service is available for nursing staff who need to float to different campuses.

Patient Care Details

Patient Age Groups: Adults and Geriatrics
Daily Census: Approximately 12 patients
Number of Beds: 30
Interdisciplinary Team Support: Including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, and more

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will possess expertise in various critical care skills including:

Management of ventilated patients
IV and central line management
Administration of emergency medications
CVA/acute stroke management
Interpretation of arterial blood gases
Neuro Intensive Care Unit experience
Monitoring of pulmonary artery lines (Swan Ganz)
Additional specific skills as per unit needs
