Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift, 13 Week Assignment

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This position emphasizes patient and employee safety, adhering to the organization's focus on creating a safe environment for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop individualized plans of care based on assessment data.
• Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation and provide direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status to other care providers.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, providing direction and support.
• Contribute positively to the functioning of the unit through teamwork and effective communication.
• Maintain safety standards in patient care and the work environment.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested following orientation.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (specific facilities only).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
• Previous experience with the organization is highly desired.

Schedule

This position requires a day shift, working 3 days a week with 12-hour shifts.
