Whether you are an experienced cook or looking to build a long-term career in healthcare food service, Fairview offers a rewarding opportunity to use your culinary skills in a setting where your work truly matters.

This is a part-time, benefit-eligible opportunity working 56 hours every two weeks on the evening shift.

In this role, you will prepare and serve high-quality food using standardized recipes while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and quality standards. You will play an important role in providing nutritious meals and excellent service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Week 1
  • Tuesday: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Saturday: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Sunday: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Week 2
  • Wednesday: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Thursday: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Friday: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Responsibilities
  • Prepare food items according to standardized recipes and established quality standards.
  • Ensure food products meet temperature, appearance, and quality expectations.
  • Assist with recipe development and testing as assigned.
  • Complete production documentation accurately and thoroughly.
  • Handle and prepare food safely following HACCP and departmental procedures.
  • Follow employee health and hygiene guidelines to prevent disease transmission.
  • Adhere to food safety practices to prevent contamination.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and internal customers across service areas.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work areas according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Demonstrate accountability for individual and team performance.
  • Contribute to a safe and positive work environment.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support Fairview's commitment to quality care.
Required Qualifications
  • One (1) year of food service, culinary, or related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, hospital, long-term care, or institutional food service environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP guidelines and food safety practices.
  • Experience preparing food in a high-volume kitchen setting.
  • Current food safety certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
