Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR/Surgery RN for a 13-week travel contract in New Braunfels, TX, supporting a high-volume surgical unit with a broad range of service lines including GI, robotics, and more.

Details

• General Surgery unit in a hospital setting
• Service lines include GI (no dedicated GI team — OR staff cover GI cases both during the week and on call), general surgery, urology, GYN, vascular, ortho, neuro, robotics (Xi, DV5, and ION), reconstructive plastics, and podiatry; cardiovascular experience is a plus but not required
• Minimal pediatric patient population
• Multiple 8-hour day shifts available Monday–Friday: 0630–1500, 1100–1930, and 1400–2230
• Epic EMR — experience highly preferred

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or a Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of OR/surgical nursing experience
• BSN preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care utilizing the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Assess and address patient and family education needs, including psychological, emotional, cultural, and social considerations
• All requests for time off must be submitted and approved prior to hire
