Commercial Roofing Estimator in Omaha, NE

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join a well-established commercial and industrial roofing contractor. This individual will be responsible for reviewing project documents, completing detailed takeoffs, preparing estimates and proposals, and supporting projects from the bidding stage through pre-construction.

The ideal candidate will have experience within the commercial roofing or construction industry and a strong understanding of estimating, drawings, specifications, materials, labor, and project costs.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, reports, and project documents to determine the complete scope of work.

• Perform detailed takeoffs to determine required materials, labor, subcontractor costs, and other project expenses.

• Prepare accurate project estimates, budgets, and final bid pricing.

• Set up estimates and maintain accurate estimating information within company systems.

• Prepare and submit proposals for new projects, additional work, change orders, and time-and-material projects.

• Attend pre-bid, pre-construction, and project planning meetings as needed.

• Review awarded project documents for changes or discrepancies from original bid documents.

• Prepare change-order requests when project scope changes.

• Coordinate drawings, submittals, and other project documentation to ensure information is completed and returned to field teams in a timely manner.

• Prepare sheet metal drawings and quantities for fabrication and coordinate material requirements with project teams.

• Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and internal team members.

• Assist with bonding requirements and other bid-related documentation when necessary.

• Ensure proposals, contracts, and required billing information are processed and provided to accounting in a timely manner.

• Manage multiple estimates and projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Commercial roofing or construction estimating experience strongly preferred.

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, plans, reports, and industry standards.

• Strong understanding of construction materials, labor requirements, project scopes, and estimating processes.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction estimating/project management software.

• Experience with CAD or similar drawing/database applications is preferred.

• Sage/Timberline experience is a plus.

• Ability to think quickly and respond appropriately to project and construction-related questions.
