Position Title: Facilities Technician

Match Charter Public School is a free, high-performing charter public school in Boston. We are a PreK-12 school serving up to 1,250 students. Our mission is to prepare studentsparticularly multilingual learners and those who would be the first in their families to earn a college degreefor success in college and careers in order to achieve economic security and mobility. OVERVIEW OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Match is seeking a reliable and efficient Facilities Technician to join to support facilities work all three Match school locations: the elementary school (Match Community Day) on 100 Poydras St. in Hyde Park, the middle school on 215 Forest Hills St. in Jamaica Plain, and the high school at 1001 Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton. The working hours during the school year are Monday-Friday, 6:30am-2:30pm, but the hours may vary depending during school vacations and over the summer months. This position reports to Matchs Director of Facilities.

The compensation for his position starts at an annual salary of $50,939. Match offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 90% coverage of employee health insurance costs and up to $150/month in student loan repayment assistance. 

This position includes a number of essential responsibilities, including (but not limited to):

• Routine Inspections: Check the campus daily to identify broken equipment, safety hazards, or structural wear.
• Preventive Maintenance: Service machinery and tools on a regular schedule to prevent sudden breakdowns.
• Grounds Upkeep: clear snow as needed, and keep outdoor areas clean and safe.
• Complete regular school building maintenance from week to week, such as mounting whiteboards and bulletin boards in classrooms, replacing light bulbs and lamps, assembling and moving furniture, repairing damage, and any other maintenance tasks as needed; 
• Regularly work with Matchs Facilities team to perform landscaping and grounds upkeep at Match Community Day and Match Middle School;
• Maintain inventory of facilities supplies and materials; and

Other facilities projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Competitive applicants will have: 

• Education: high school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: On-the-job training or trade school background in electrical, HVAC, or plumbing preferred.
• Physical requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and climb ladders.
• Ability to be detail-oriented, timely, and reliable
• Good communication skills
• A proven track-record of working efficiently and independently in a time-sensitive environment
