Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Psychiatry (Level 2)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Weekends, Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge duties per unit needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on a unique adult medical/surgical unit serving patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and/or behavioral health conditions
• Adapt to a varied patient population in a dynamic and evolving care environment
• Participate in rotating shift schedules including days, evenings, and nights, as well as weekends and holidays
• Fulfill charge nurse responsibilities as needed per unit requirements
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support both medical/surgical and psychiatric patient needs

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License (NY License ONLY)
• Minimum 2 years of recent medical/surgical experience
• Psychiatric/behavioral health nursing experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association (AHA) ONLY

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in an acute care medical/surgical setting
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a growing, one-of-a-kind specialty unit
• Interest in pursuing dual-certification in medical/surgical and psychiatric nursing (eligible after experience requirement is met)
