Construction Field Engineer

CYTRIC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated field engineer across electrical, mechanical, plumbing (MEP), and general construction projects, with a strong focus on breaker testing and power system maintenance. The Foreman will be responsible for supervising crews, coordinating daily site activities, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality work in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field crews performing electrical breaker testing, maintenance, and installation
• Oversee execution of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and general construction work scopes
• Coordinate daily job site activities, manpower, materials, and equipment
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents to guide field execution
• Perform and oversee breaker testing, troubleshooting, and reporting (low and medium voltage systems)
• Ensure all work complies with OSHA, NEC, NFPA, and project-specific requirements
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and enforce site safety practices
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients
• Monitor project schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks
• Maintain daily reports, field documentation, and test records
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively to avoid delays or rework
• Ensure quality control and proper installation practices across all trades
• Support commissioning, startup, and final project closeout activities

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in electrical construction and maintenance, with foreman or supervisory experience
• Strong hands-on experience with breaker testing (LV/MV), switchgear, and power distribution systems
• Working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and general construction practices
• Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams and construction drawings
• Familiarity with testing equipment and procedures (e.g., insulation resistance, contact resistance, trip testing)
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• OSHA 30 certification preferred
• Valid driver’s license required

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SCADA, control systems, or industrial environments
• Knowledge of commissioning procedures and reporting
• Experience working on government or mission-critical facilities (e.g., hospitals, data centers)
• Ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors efficiently

Work Environment

• Field-based role with work at construction sites, industrial facilities, and commercial buildings
• May require night work, weekend shifts, or outage coordination
• Ability to lift equipment and work in physically demanding environments
