Plumbing Engineer

Looking for a Plumbing Engineer I We are seeking a dedicated Plumbing Engineer to work on a variety of facility and infrastructure projects across the U.S. The role involves collaborating with clients, architects, owners, and local authorities to develop and implement plumbing design solutions that meet code, construction, and industry standards. Responsibilities Assume responsibility for project designs under supervision of the Engineer of Record and within the discipline’s expertise. Develop design approaches and concepts for projects with conceptual input and oversight from the EOR. Perform specific engineering studies and other design analyses using industry software. Oversee preparation of drawings, ensuring accuracy and neatness. Evaluate the work of design colleagues and provide feedback and/or corrections. Attend meetings with owners, clients, or architects as needed. Coordinate with local authorities, utilities, and municipalities to incorporate construction, code, and government requirements. Assist with the development of the overall man‑hour budget and be responsible for the budget within the discipline; develop work plans for the discipline team in accordance with the budget. Provide input, feedback, and updates on project schedules; plan work in accordance with the schedule. Perform studies, load calculations, and selection of equipment appropriate to the project design. Coordinate equipment and overall design space requirements with the architect and other disciplines. Attend in‑house project kickoff meeting and design meetings. Review work for technical accuracy and completeness prior to the final QA/QC review. Communicate design requirements and answer questions from contractors and suppliers during the bid or construction phases. Conduct project job site visits during construction to monitor progress and observe installed construction; make comments based on design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes. Review shop drawings and submittals. Maintain detailed records of communications with clients, contractors, vendors, and team members. Assist in training, mentoring, and developmental guidance of designers and EITs. Maintain a continued focus on keeping up with industry trends and changes through continued self‑education and training. May assist the Project Manager in facilitating some project duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited college with four years of applicable experience in plumbing discipline design and analysis. Registered Professional Engineer.
