Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Pennsylvania license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Special Requests: Self-scheduling and blocked schedules are allowed as long as unit needs are met.

Unit Details: Both 1W and 2E have 2 CNAs on days and no CNAs on nights. Remote telemetry patients are monitored by the monitor tech on the 3rd floor; there are no monitors on the unit. Drips include heparin and possibly MSO4 for comfort measures; no cardiac gtts. Vents include Bipap, Cpap, and high flow, all managed by RT. 1W mainly sees post-surgical and ortho patients. 2E mainly sees MedSurg, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end-of-life, and low-volume inpatient chemo patients; the director and manager administer chemo. COVID patients are housed on one designated hallway and clean patients on another; assignments may include both clean and COVID-designated patients at the same time.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Saturday and Sunday are weekend shifts for both day and night shifts. Required to work 2 Fridays per schedule; many staff group Friday with their weekend shifts and work Fri/Sat/Sun. Holidays rotate with permanent staff.

Floating Requirements: Floating only to other MedSurg units.

7 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
