Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and transmit customs entries through ABI in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
• Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other import documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Classify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and determine applicable duties, taxes, and fees.
• Coordinate with importers, carriers, customs officials, government agencies, and internal operations teams to facilitate shipment clearance.
• Monitor and track shipments through the customs clearance process and proactively resolve entry issues or delays.
• Ensure compliance with CBP regulations, Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements, and other import-related regulations.
• Research and resolve customs discrepancies, classification issues, valuation concerns, and admissibility questions.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
• Communicate shipment status updates and clearance requirements to customers in a professional and timely manner.
• Support post-entry activities, including amendments, protests, duty adjustments, and audits as needed.
• Stay current on changes in customs regulations, trade compliance requirements, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Customs Entry Writer, Customs Brokerage Specialist, Import Specialist, or similar role.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations and import procedures.
• Experience processing customs entries within a customs brokerage or freight forwarding environment.
• Proficiency with customs brokerage software and ABI transmission systems.
• Knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, duty assessment, and import documentation requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
