Department: FIN | Student Financial Disbursements

Summary of Job Duties: The Student Services Specialist should be an experienced financial services professional with expertise in student loan servicing, account collections, financial reconciliation, and regulatory compliance. Skilled in processing loan payments, managing deferments and cancellations, maintaining accurate financial records, and conducting collection efforts for student loans and tuition accounts. Proficient in reconciling financial data, monitoring program compliance requirements, updating policies and procedures, and generating reports to support financial operations. Strong administrative, customer service, and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in arts, business, or a related field plus three (3) years of administrative/clerical experience within an office environment, or
• High School diploma/GED plus seven (7) years of administrative/clerical experience within an office environment required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

• Proficient in Microsoft - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Workday Student experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Opens, closes, and reconciles the cashiering office daily in the Student Information System (SIS).
• Posts student payments and accurately processes cash receipts to be delivered to the Treasurer's Office.
• Reconciles online credit card payments, which include the enrollment deposits, tuition payments, and application fees daily.
• Monitors the IDT account and posts transactions in a timely manner.
• Answers phone, manages the filing system, sorts, processes, and logs mail, scans paid-in-full documents, and responds to emails. Runs reports for month-end reconciliations.
• Daily reviews the BankMobile and Transact reports to resolve issues with stale-dated checks, refund issues, credit card payments, payment plans, etc.
• Assists with special projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
