Crisis Outreach Clinical Shift Supervisor - Night Shift, MRRCT

Supervisors provide real‑time, on‑the‑ground supervision, coaching, and guidance to staff, manage documentation standards, ensure adherence to DESC policies, maintain team performance, and coordinate training and education. They may also conduct clinical and psychosocial assessments in the field and mental health evaluations to determine least restrictive alternatives to involuntary treatment. Responsibilities Understand MRRCT expectations as described in King County’s Provider Manual. Maintain and update employee files and records for program compliance. Co‑lead day‑to‑day shift operations. Dispatch to outreaches as needed alongside the team. Co‑host and participate in required team meetings. Provide 1:1 supervision with supervisees at least twice a month. Coordinate day‑to‑day schedule, adjusting for staff call‑outs and call volume. Manage weekly and monthly scheduling, coordinating PTO requests to maintain staffing model. Monitor vehicle safety and working conditions, collaborating with the Project Manager and ensuring compliance with vehicle and driver policies. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of DESC policies and procedures; assure compliance. Provide administrative and clinical supervision to Certified Peer Crisis Outreach Specialists, Crisis Outreach Specialists, and Mental Health Professional Crisis Outreach Specialists, including performance evaluations and documentation. Stay knowledgeable of the collective bargaining agreement between management and union‑represented staff; assure compliance. Offer clinical consultation on psychiatric, substance use, and housing needs of clients and advocate for appropriate community dispositions. Teach and promote CORE DESC values, crisis intervention and de‑escalation skills, and the causes and effects of homelessness to ensure client and staff safety. Help staff develop competent crisis outreach skills, documentation standards, and conflict‑resolution skills. Participate actively in hiring to ensure full staffing across shifts and positions. Minimum Qualifications Eligibility for a Licensed AAC credential or any superseding credential that meets RCW 71.05.020 requirements for a mental health professional. At least one year of experience in community‑based behavioral health services. Experience working with adults experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and/or substance use disorders. Valid Washington State driver’s license with an insurable driving record; ability to drive an agency or personal vehicle. Completion of DESC Crisis Response and Prevention training and an eight‑hour Crisis Intervention Training (CIT). Successful completion of a Washington State criminal background check. Familiarity with Recovery Principles, Crisis Intervention and Stabilization, Integrated Treatment of Co‑occurring Disorders, Intensive Case Management, Illness Management, and evidence‑based best practices. Knowledge of Harm Reduction strategies. Strong working knowledge of DSM‑V. Ability to assess situations quickly and respond calmly to any mental‑health or chemical‑dependency crisis to ensure physical and psychological safety of clients. Willingness to seek each client’s unique circumstances, preferences, and goals and incorporate them into crisis response. Strong communication and writing skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays, including sharing on‑call duties and covering shifts. Willingness to provide community outreach anywhere in King County, even when no first responders are present. Familiarity with King County crisis response system and methods of access. Ability to communicate with and supervise staff from diverse backgrounds. Capability to work effectively with clients displaying a wide range of behaviors. Commitment to cooperation, continuity, and respect for clients. Preferred Qualifications Licensed Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington. Licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) in Washington. Qualified to provide Department of Health‑approved supervision to LICSW, LMFT, LMHC, and/or CDP candidates. Experience in Crisis Outreach and/or Crisis Intervention. Bilingual in Spanish/English. Bi‑cultural background/experience and/or qualify as an ethnic minority, DD, or geriatric mental health specialist (per WAC 388‑865‑0150). Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic, positive responses and work collaboratively in a stressful environment. Physical Demands Requires sitting for long periods, frequent talking and hearing, lifting and carrying items up to 25 pounds, and operating computer hardware. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Reasonable accommodations will be provided.
