Registered Sleep Tech

Job Description Accountable for performing, coordinating and scoring physiologic studies of sleep and sleep‑related disorders. The incumbent provides care to patients via technology, therapeutic interventions, and coordination of care with other health care professionals. Posting Specifics Benefits Eligible: Yes (Health, Vision, & Dental Insurance, 401(k), education assistance, and many more) Shift Details: Full‑time, 36 hours per week, shifts 8 am–3 pm Department: Sleep Lab, McKay‑Dee Hospital Additional Requirements: Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential (RSPGT or equivalent) is required Essential Functions Perform overnight polysomnographic studies using various modes of positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy interventions. Perform home sleep apnea tests (HSAT). Monitor and document patients undergoing physiologic studies. Monitor and track equipment and supplies. Complete record keeping and charting. Address and solve both technical and interpersonal problems. Demonstrate communication skills. Use computerized and mechanical equipment efficiently. Score studies according to AASM guidelines. Obtain ten continuing education credits (CEC) related to sleep medicine annually. Provide supervision, mentorship, and orientation/ongoing education to PSG techs and PST‑CPSGTs. BLS certification or RQI for healthcare providers. Current RPSGT/RST or certified respiratory therapist (CRT) licensed in the state of practice, if required. Available to work varying shifts, including nights. Specific certifications or skills as required by facility or patient population (e.g., PALS, ACLS, NRP). Preferred Qualifications Anatomy coursework. If in Idaho, a PSGT permit issued by the Idaho State Board of Medicine. Clinical or patient‑care experience. Proven ability to supervise others. Night‑shift availability with demonstrated competence. Technical and interpersonal problem‑solving skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to use computerized and mechanical equipment. Capacity to read, interpret, and document information, and assess equipment and supply needs. Frequent verbal communication with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors. Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including computer usage for typing and data access. Physical requirements similar to those of clinical or patient‑care roles when the leader works clinical shifts. For driving roles: expected to safely operate a vehicle, requiring visual and reading skills for signs and traffic signals.
