Grade: Teacher’s Salary Schedule +5% Special Education Supplement Tulsa Public Schools’ existing salary schedules provide career increment adjustments based on education/experience and/or years of creditable service. Position Summary: The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant provides direct support tolicensed Speech-Language Pathologists in the screening, treatment, and documentation ofspeech and language disorders. The position works under the supervision of a licensedSpeech-Language Pathologist and assists in delivering speech therapy services to students with speech, language, and communication disorders.The position implements therapy plans, delivers individualized interventions, collects andrecords student performance data, and supports the goals of the therapy team across assigned school sites. Key Functions: Therapy delivery under the direction of a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist IEP goal implementation and progress monitoring Student performance data collection and documentation Family and staff support on therapy goals and home practice Therapy materials and environment management Professional development and compliance with supervision requirements Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CDIS) Experience: Previous experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant or an SLPAexternship Licenses and Certifications: Possess and maintain an Oklahoma Teacher Certification in Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant required Possess and maintain an ASHA certificate and OBESPA licensure required Valid Oklahoma driver's license required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and therapy techniques Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience with documentation and progress tracking Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with diverse cultural populations Awareness of laws and policies regarding special education Organizational and time-management skills Assistive technology experience preferred Bilingual preferred About Our District: At Tulsa Public Schools, our mission is to inspire and prepare every student to love learning, achieve ambitious goals, and make positive contributions to our world.
