SPVR HUSBANDRY OPERATIONS

Position Highlights
- Lead and supervise Research Animal Care Technicians across multiple levels
- Ensure exceptional standards of animal care and welfare
- Contribute to operations within a cutting-edge research institute environment
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support Research Animal Care Technicians
- Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials
- Ensure proper maintenance of animal room equipment
- Monitor recordkeeping and ensure compliance with all regulatory and departmental policies
- Support onboarding, training, and re-training of staff
- Assist with team scheduling and operational coordination
The Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience in laboratory animal care
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Professional communication skills with all levels of staff
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Physically able to remain active and on your feet throughout the day
Credentials & Qualifications
- Associate's degree + 5 years of animal care experience required OR High school diploma + 7 years of relevant experience
- LAT certification (AALAS) required
- LATG certification (AALAS) preferred (required within 2 years of hire)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a research animal facility preferred
- Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
