Lathes, mills, drills, Multi Axis equipment. Ideally familiar with our Mazak and our specific equipment. Competent in reading and understanding engineering drawings. GD&T with tolerances is critical. Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, cutting parameters, and process optimization. Comprehension and capability to discuss CNC programming and background codes. Drafting software. Scheduling and prioritizing. Understanding of how long a program will need to run or potentially how difficult it will be to machine a part. Optimizing set ups. Where to build inventory, buffers, supermarkets. Understanding of Tooling, quick change perishable vs live tooling vs carbide. Some capability to know what works and what is a waste of time and money. Strong collaborator with ME’s, data driven with approach to pareto and problem solving. Managing people and shift work. Timekeeping, KPI’s, etc. Coaching and leading while maintaining accountability.
