Welder/Fabricator

2nd Shift Welder Fabricator Join our team as a 2nd Shift Welder Fabricator, where you will play a critical role in constructing steel staircases, railings, and various structural components for buildings. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about welding and fabricating using MIG techniques on materials like aluminum, stainless, and carbon steel. The shift runs from 4:00 pm to 3:00 am, Monday through Friday, with an opportunity for 10-15 hours of overtime weekly. Responsibilities Weld and fabricate steel staircases, railings, and other structural components. Read and interpret blueprints to complete projects. Utilize shop equipment such as grinders, drills, taps, and brakes. Work on current projects, including those for new stadiums in downtown GR. Ensure high-quality work by adhering to project specifications. Essential Skills Proficient in MIG welding. Strong fabrication skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Experience with layouts and structural steel. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with aluminum, carbon steel, or stainless steel. TIG welding proficiency. Work Environment This is a fast-paced work environment where everyone is expected to stay on task to ensure timely shipments. The team is tight-knit, hardworking, and direct, holding each other accountable. You will be supporting the miscellaneous steel department and will receive a 10% shift premium for working the 2nd shift. Training is conducted on the 1st shift for 1-2 months. Expect a work schedule of 50-60 hours weekly, with overtime on Fridays and no weekend work. Job Type & Location This is a permanent position based out of Grand Rapids, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
