Part Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor (W2 Employee)

Dr. Spiegelhoff & Associates is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our practice as an associate. In this role, you will provide compassionate, insight-oriented psychotherapy to populations including adolescents, adults, and families. Your knowledge and work will help empower clients to gain awareness and make informed choices about their mental health and overall wellness, and support them in making healthy lifestyle changes. Clients have the option to receive psychotherapy in person at the office or through telehealth. The schedule is flexible, but some evenings are preferred to accommodate clients .

Requirements: Minimum of a master's degree in mental health counseling. Currently licensed as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in NY. Limited-permit will be considered only for counselors with a master's degree who are working toward a doctoral degree. Minimum of five years of psychotherapy experience. Experience working with adolescents and adults. Preferred experience with families and couples. Preferred knowledge of insight-oriented counseling styles. Counselor must maintain regular, timely notes within the provider's electronic health records (EHR). Counselor must participate in supervision.

Practice Provides: Onboarding and training. Weekly supervision. Professional development opportunities. Access to electronic medical records, including telehealth, calendar, and appointment reminders. Office space in a suburban location. The office is located in a building primarily utilized by health care professionals. Advertising and marketing. Writing opportunities for blog and newsletter. Access to practice referrals. Individual phone line.

Hours & Compensation: Able to work flexible day and evening hours - approximately 10 - 15 hours per week, in-office and telehealth. Competitive hourly pay and extra hours for clinical supervision and administrative work. Hourly rate: $50 - $65, depending on experience and qualifications. Hours paid are based on the number of sessions per week. $1,000 sign-on bonus! Contingent upon a minimum of six months of work. Hourly pay for late cancelations and no-shows. Unpaid time off. Health insurance available (employee-paid, set up through payroll and insurance broker). Workers’ comp and disability are paid for by the practice. Administrative support for record-keeping.

About the practice: Dr. Spiegelhoff & Associates is a private practice located in Camillus, NY, just outside of Syracuse. The practice specializes in integrative mental health counseling for adolescents and adults, and specialty reunification and co-parent therapy by Dr. Spiegelhoff. Counselors provide individual, couples, and family psychotherapy. The practice promotes clinical growth and an opportunity to learn more about integrative and insight-oriented care.

Sarah F. Spiegelhoff, Ph.D., LMHC-D, LPC, NCC, has two decades of experience as a counselor. In addition to her clinical work, she is a professor in a graduate mental health counseling program. She is a former member of the American Counseling Association of New York board, having served as President, Interim Legislative Chair, and Historian.

Dr. Spiegelhoff is trained as a clinical supervisor, has diagnostic privilege in NY, and is licensed in NY and PA. Employees will receive weekly supervision designed not only to review cases but also to contribute to their professional growth. Employees will have opportunities to discuss and engage in professional development.
