Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and current MI licensure.

Details

• 15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
• Provides antepartum, labor and delivery, OR circulating, scrub nurse, newborn nurse, and couplet care
• Performs lab draws and hearing screens on newborns
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Follows AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios
• Works in all areas of LDRP
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floats to the house as a sitter when needed and to a second facility 27 miles away when census allows
• No call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of OB, Mother/Baby, and L&D experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and either AWHONN Intermediate or NCC C-EFM
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Required skills: circulating and FHM triage
• Scrub skills preferred
• Proof of flu vaccination required for consideration
• Supervisor-level references required

Additional Information

• Will be trained to complete newborn infant hearing screens using the ALGO 5 machine
• Scrubs are provided
• Travelers are first to float
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the contract
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days total
• Locals accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
• Previous internal travelers may return after 6 months; previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
