Unico Supply Holdings, Inc. is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead and continuously improve our millwork operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for production, purchasing, inventory, warehouse, delivery, quality control, scheduling, and operational profitability.

The Director of Operations will work closely with Sales and Finance to improve workflow, strengthen accountability, reduce operating costs, support customer commitments, and ensure the business meets its revenue, margin, productivity, and profitability goals.

What You'll Be Doing

You will oversee day-to-day millwork, door, trim, and related production operations while ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.

You will establish production schedules, improve labor utilization, monitor capacity, identify bottlenecks, and create standard operating procedures that improve consistency and efficiency.

You will also oversee purchasing and supplier relationships, maintain appropriate inventory levels, monitor material costs, improve inventory accuracy, and reduce excess or slow-moving stock.

The role includes responsibility for warehouse receiving, picking, staging, loading, shipping, and delivery performance. You will work to reduce damage, returns, delivery errors, and customer complaints while improving warehouse organization and accountability.

Own the Numbers

This position is responsible for operational performance and supporting established P&L targets.

You will monitor gross profit, labor costs, inventory turns, purchasing costs, overtime, delivery expenses, and other operating costs.

You will develop and maintain weekly and monthly KPI reporting, identify performance variances, and implement corrective actions when needed.

The goal is to improve profitability without sacrificing quality or customer service.

Lead the Team

You will lead department managers and supervisors, establish clear expectations, set measurable goals, and build a high-performing operations team.

We are looking for someone who addresses performance issues directly, develops employees, promotes safety and teamwork, and brings structure and accountability to the organization.

This is not a desk-only role. The right person will be comfortable stepping into operational areas when needed and working alongside the team to keep the business moving.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a proven operations leader with experience in millwork, lumber, building materials, manufacturing, distribution, or a closely related industry .

You should have strong knowledge of production, purchasing, inventory, warehouse, delivery, scheduling, and operational financials.

Experience managing supervisors or department leaders, developing KPIs, improving workflow, controlling costs, and working closely with Sales and Finance is important.

Direct experience with millwork, doors, trim, lumber, or building materials is strongly preferred.
