Accounting Specialist

THE ROLE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team. This junior-level role will support accounts receivable (AR), contract validation, data entry, and communication with media owners and agency partners. The ideal candidate is reliable, process-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy and maintaining strong relationships with external partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform AR collections, including outreach to agencies and partners regarding outstanding payments.
• Respond to billing, payment, and general financial inquiries from Media Owners in a timely and professional manner.
• Complete data entry tasks within Adkom systems and/or QuickBooks to maintain accurate financial records.
• Review and validate contracts from agencies and sign owners to ensure correct terms, pricing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams—including Finance, Operations, and Account Management—to resolve discrepancies and support smooth financial workflows.
• Assist in process improvements, documentation updates, and system accuracy initiatives.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ year of experience in accounting, accounts receivable, finance operations, or a related field (preferred but not required for strong junior candidates).
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow structured processes accurately.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote environment.
• Comfort navigating evolving systems and technology.
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) is a strong plus.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship (now or in the future).

COMPENSATION

The budgeted salary for this role is $35,000 - $45,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and internal equity considerations.
