Position Overview Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College (SCTC) is seeking a dynamic and committed President to guide the College on its future path and to ensure the mission and purposes are realized on behalf of the students, the community, and the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe (SCIT). The President will serve as chief administrator and educational leader, responsible for the organizational structure and all executive and administrative duties in connection with the daily operation of the College. The President will lead a team of administrators, faculty, and staff to carry out the College’s unique mission and vision, meet growth challenges, sustain a significant online footprint, and increase enrollment in face‑to‑face campus classes. The President will also serve as a member of the board of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium, provide written and oral support for AIHEC initiatives to members of US congressional delegations, and provide overall leadership to the College and its partners in evaluations by accrediting agencies. Qualifications Ph.D. preferred; or Master’s with minimum five years of administrative experience in higher education. Successful background check. Experience with educational accreditation agencies and successful administrative/supervisory experience in higher education. Exemplary communication and conflict management skills. Experience with data‑driven decision‑making. Ability to travel as ambassador of SCTC. Experience working with Indigenous peoples and tribal colleges/universities. Demonstrated experience in program development. Knowledge of Tribal, State, and Federal policies related to higher education. Duties and Responsibilities Act as Chief Executive Officer, carrying out programs and exercising policies consistent with the mission, objectives, and core values, and in compliance with tribal, state, Federal laws and accreditation guidelines. Provide informed guidance concerning solicitation and application for large federal and other grants. Coordinate implementation of the strategic plan and development of the College budget. Lead planning of construction needs for a growing College. Collaborate with SCIT, state, and national entities. Represent the College to the community, stakeholders, and broader public. Support the culture, language, and lifeways of the SCIT. Review pending or existing legislation that affects the College and report to the Board of Regents. Advisory to the Board of Regents on policy and make recommendations on all matters affecting the College. Inform the Board of all appointments of administrative and full‑time academic personnel, except those subject to appointment by the Board of Regents. Submit an annual budget and administer the Board‑approved budget. Prepare and submit annual report of operations to the Board of Regents, including recommendations for immediate and long‑range development. Perform executive functions of the Board of Regents: prepare agenda, conduct official correspondence, issue orders, prepare contracts and documents, ensure custody of records for public inspection, formulate regulations and procedures, and serve as official channel for all contacts between staff and the Board. #J-18808-Ljbffr
