This position is part-time, within the Dental Department, working at our 1021 Broadway location. The option of a flexible 40-hour workweek is possible within certain teams.Responsibilities:Provide hands-on patient care for all visits in schedule, including examinations during hygiene visitsExamine, review and consult patients' medical records for evaluation, diagnostic and treatment decisionsCheck teeth, gums and other parts of the mouth, along with X-rays and tests, to diagnose dental problemsAdvise patients regarding the best course of treatment and provide a customized exam and plan for every patientPrepare patients for treatment, including sedation or anesthetic applicationPerform surgical procedures on the teeth, bone and soft tissues of the oral cavity, such as tooth extractions and root canal proceduresIdentify tooth decay and replace cavities with fillingsDesign and fit dental prosthetics, such as bridges, crowns and denturesApply teeth-whitening treatmentsPrescribe medication as neededEducate patients on proper brushing techniques, flossing and fluoride usePromote good oral health and preventive dental careRefer patients for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols.Ability to maximize revenue while decreasing costs for the dental practice and organizationDemonstrated leadership qualities including but not limited to delegating, sound decision making, empowering others and collaborating with leadership on strategic goals.Attend mandatory trainings and utilize continued education credits in a manner consistent with organizational expectationsParticipate in quality improvement activitiesMaintains current certifications including all mandatory annual and CPR trainingQualifications:Graduation from an accredited Dental ProgramPossession of licensure to practice as a dentist in the state of New York or in process of licensurePreferred: 2+ years of experience at a dental practiceStrong leadership skills and ability to make mature decisions autonomously and with input from othersNew Grads welcome to applyPay Range: The pay range for this opportunity is $68.00 - $74.00 hourly, with room for negotiation.
