Take your occupational therapy expertise into schools near Nokomis, FL, supporting students’ skill development and educational success. Open Positions:
- Position 1: Full-time OT to provide coverage during a leave, from August 25th to October 4th, serving elementary students
- Position 2: Full-time OT needed for the entire school year (September 1st through the end of the school year), serving multiple schools in North County
Required Background and Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Florida (or eligibility for immediate licensure)
- Recent experience in a school setting, with a solid grasp of IEP processes, therapies, and reporting
- Demonstrated ability to support students with diverse needs, from mild to moderate disabilities
- Effective communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and families
- Adaptability to different school environments and caseloads
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized intervention plans to help students achieve academic and functional goals
- Deliver therapy services in both group and individual settings, focusing on fine motor, sensory processing, and self-regulation skills
- Collaborate with teachers and other school specialists to integrate therapy interventions into the classroom
- Document progress and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring compliance and best practices
- Provide training or consultation to school staff and families as needed
