Physician – Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine

Part-Time | 0.4–0.6 FTE | Approximately 2–3 Days per Week
Location: Syracuse, New York
In Collaboration with: Crouse Hospital & Healogics

Position Overview

Healogics is seeking a Physician to join our clinical team in Syracuse, New York. This is a part-time opportunity, approximately 0.4–0.6 FTE (2–3 days per week) , providing clinical coverage in collaboration with Crouse Hospital .

The Physician will provide comprehensive evaluation and management of patients with chronic and complex wounds and will play an important role in the delivery of advanced wound care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) .

Working closely with Nurse Practitioners, nurses, hyperbaric technicians, hospital staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team, the Physician will help develop individualized treatment plans and ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute, chronic, and complex wounds.
• Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans based on each patient's clinical needs.
• Provide medical oversight and management of patients receiving Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) .
• Perform appropriate wound care procedures within the scope of practice.
• Assess patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, nursing staff, hospital physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide clinical leadership and support to the wound care team.
• Educate patients and families regarding wound care, treatment plans, risk factors, and disease management.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
• Participate in Healogics training, continuing medical education, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical programs.
• Follow evidence-based clinical guidelines, hospital policies, and Healogics standards of care.
• Help promote a patient-centered approach focused on wound healing, improved outcomes, and quality of life.

Schedule

• Part-Time | 0.4–0.6 FTE
• Approximately 2–3 days per week
• Schedule and clinical coverage will be based on the needs of the center and physician availability.
• Specific days and hours will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or board eligibility in an appropriate specialty.
• Current New York medical license or eligibility for licensure.
• Current DEA registration, as applicable.
• Current BLS certification; additional certifications as required by the facility.
• Previous experience in wound care, hyperbaric medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or another relevant specialty preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
