Accounting Specialist – AZ Department of Homeland SecurityThe Arizona Department of Homeland Security is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support the accounting team as the department prepares for an upcoming audit. This position will assist with day-to-day accounting functions while current staff focus on improving internal processes and controls.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Accounts Payable and Accounts ReceivableAssist with general accounting and financial transactionsPerform accurate financial data entry and maintain recordsReview information for accuracy and discrepanciesAssist with reconciliations and audit preparationUtilize accounting software and Excel to track and organize financial informationSupport the accounting team with additional projects as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field1–2 years of accounting experienceExperience with Accounts Payable and/or Accounts ReceivableProficient in Microsoft ExcelComfortable working with accounting softwareStrong attention to detail and accuracyStrong analytical and organizational skillsStrong data entry skillsTop 3 Skills to Screen For1. AP/AR experience – Has actually processed invoices, payments, receivables, reconciliations, etc. 2. Excel proficiency – Comfortable working with spreadsheets and financial data. 3.
