General Summary
Under the direction of the Public Works Supervisor, the Parks Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and construction duties by maintaining parks, athletic fields, landscaping, installing, and maintaining irrigation systems, applying pesticides, and many other related tasks. This position exercises no supervision.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Maintains parks and fields by mowing, trimming trees, mulching, weeding, installing, and maintaining flower beds, leveling parks and fields, repairing fencing, removing litter, brush, and debris, cleaning and maintaining restrooms and removing trash, planting and fertilizing seeds and grass, and chemical weed killing. Sets up sporting equipment to include bases, goals, and nets; drags and chalks fields.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs equipment such as mowers, tractors, weed eaters, trimmers, chainsaws, and trailers.
• Assists with various projects including sod and seed installation and establishment, tree planting and minor landscape renovations.
• Clean and maintain shop area. Tracks and maintains inventory and supplies.
• Support and assist rentals and events in setup and teardown and during events.
• Performs and reports various park inspections and playground inspections and inventory and maintenance logs.
• Performs related work as assigned.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance during assigned work hours.
• This position is essential during natural or manmade disasters and catastrophic events. The role may require providing services or performing tasks that ensure public safety and the continuity of City operations, which could differ from the regular duties of the position. The role also requires climbing and working from ladders and supports up to 45 feet high. Work is primarily conducted outdoors, exposing the employee to potential hazards such as extreme weather conditions, dust, noise, and exhaust fumes. There is also exposure to physical hazards when working from ladders and supports, as well as chemical hazards when handling and applying chemicals. The job necessitates frequent use of safety clothing and equipment and adherence to safety rules and procedures. Work is subject to frequent interruptions.

• Processes for planting and fertilizing seeds and grass, as well as using chemical weed killers.
• Equipment operation, maintenance, and repair, including mowers, tractors, weed eaters, trimmers, chainsaws, and trailers.
• Inventory management and supply tracking methods.
• Park and playground inspection procedures, including reporting and maintaining inspection logs.
Skills in:
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining park maintenance equipment.
• Ability to perform various park and field maintenance tasks, including setting up sporting equipment, dragging, and chalking fields.

The City of Fulshear provides a comprehensive, cost effective, health and welfare package that includes the following: medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability (LTD), vision, flexible spending options, employee assistance program, retirement, and deferred compensation programs. Medical, dental and vision benefits are effective the first day of the month after your start date. Medical, dental, vision, LTD, and Life premiums are paid 100% by the City for all full time employees. The City will contribute 25% towards dependent healthcare costs. The city offers employees medical insurance through BlueCross BlueShield. There is no Primary Care Physician (PCP) required. You have the option to choose one of the following plans: BlueCross BlueShield PPO (co-pay) or BlueCross BlueShield PPO HSA (high deductible plan).
FLEXIBLE SPENDING OPTIONS
The city provides two benefit accounts to help employees offset out-of-pocket medical costs: a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) and a Health Savings Account (HSA). For employees enrolled in a city medical plan, the city contributes $1500.00 per year (prorated for new hires), funded at $125/month to either an HRA or HSA based on the medical plan selected.
NEXT LEVEL PRIME
The city pays for the employee's Next Level Prime Membership. This benefit gives employees and their eligible family members unlimited access to care at over 45 clinic locations in Texas and through 2/7 virtual visits with no copays at the time of service. Members can review primary care, urgent care, preventative services, chronic condition care, labs/blood draws, immunizations, and behavioral health/wellness support as part of the membership.
DENTAL INSURANCE
The city offers employees dental insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield. This plan is unique in that it allows you to choose any licensed dentist for covered services and the plan pays at the reasonable and customary rate until annual maximum.
VISION
The city offers vision insurance through EyeMed. EyeMed Vision plan offers benefits for eye exams, frames and lenses or contact lenses. LIFE INSURANCE
The city provides a life insurance policy one times your annual salary to all full-time employees which includes an accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) through The Standard.

The City of Fulshear's TMRS plan requires a contribution (made by means of bi-weekly payroll deductions) equal to seven percent (7%) of the salary of each regular full-time City employee. The City matches employee contributions on a 2 to 1 basis after the employee is vested at the time of retirement. Vesting occurs after five (5) years of employment. Supplemental death benefits are offered by TMRS, who will pay a one-time lump sum payment approximately equal to one year's salary based on the 12 months prior to death. DEFERRED COMPENSATION
In addition to TMRS retirement, 457B plans are available. The purpose of these plans is to allow an employee to set aside a portion of his/her salary and receive its value at retirement. LEAVE ACCURAL
