Strategic Finance Associate

Location This role is based in New York City (HQ) with typically 3+ days per week in the office. Responsibilities / Outcomes Your role will evolve over time, but some of your early responsibilities will include: Own the total company forecast & supporting reporting — develop financial projections based on operational inputs; own the weekly forecast, monthly target setting and reporting; build initial versions of a total company dashboard with high-level views and deeper dives for the finance team. Drive ROI analysis — analyze operational and strategic investments to ensure high-ROI capital deployment and translate data into actionable decisions. Develop financial models — evaluate impact of strategic initiatives and product/operational initiatives including partner acquisition spend or marketplace clearance costs. Partner cross-functionally — drive efficiencies and accurate forecasting across P&L lines and verticals through scenario analysis and operational improvements. Prepare executive-level reports and presentations — communicate financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership. Competencies / Qualifications Do you have what it takes to fundamentally change labor? Here are the attributes you’ll need: Financially & Analytically-minded — 3-6+ years experience in a strategic finance, data analytics or business operations role; strong analytical skills; ability to interpret financial data, conduct variance analysis, and identify key trends. Technical skills — strong analytical skills; proficient in Excel and Google Sheets; knowledge of SQL or willingness to learn; ability to pick up new tooling quickly. Problem solver — able to solve complex problems, learn quickly, adapt, and synthesize abstract ideas into concrete actions. Highly organized — systematic thinking, structured approach, prioritization, and comfort bringing order to ambiguity. Cross-Functional Collaboration — effective partnership with others to get things done with limited executive intervention. Compensation & Benefits Compensation philosophy: base salary ranges are shared, benchmarked against similar stage, high-growth companies. Offers are determined based on skills, experience, and credentials.
