Diesel Technician

Position Description Ryder is hiring a Master Level Diesel Technician in Suncook, NH. The role offers weekly pay, a variety of bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. Compensation and Benefits Hourly Pay: $43.28 per hour Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700 Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter Tool Box/Tool Allowance Sign On Bonus: $3,500 Schedule: Sunday–Wednesday, 4–10‑hour shifts (second shift 2:00 pm – 1:00 am) Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days 80 hours PTO in the first year, starting Day 1 Yearly merit pay increases 401(k) company match PPE, uniforms, and boot allowance Paid training Safety‑first workplace & State‑of‑the‑art equipment Top Tech Competition: Earn $250–$50,000 per year U.S. military veterans: extra paid day off 15% company stock discount Up to $5,000 in Tech tuition repayment 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to eligibility criteria) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech & more Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Vocational or Technical Certification or Post‑Secondary degree, preferred Basic tools, required Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including: Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) Diagnostics and repairs (AC, electrical systems) Advanced repairs including major engine repairs, diesel after‑treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs Four (4) years or more relevant work experience, preferred Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred All other certification as required by location, required Additional Requirements Ability to perform all T3 tasks Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance Effective interpersonal communication skills Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Availability to work shifts, weekends and on‑call duty as required Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, electronics or ASE Master Mechanic Proficiency in operating shop computers and diagnostic test equipment Minimum tool requirement Vehicle road‑testing as necessary Ability to coach, mentor, and influence others Drive Ryder vehicles: must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire Pass a Ryder drug test Pass a DOT physical Pass a Ryder road test Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification for the last 3 years) Responsibilities Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220) Complete all OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses (within 365 days) Complete instructor‑led OEM courses as required Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including: Standard and preventive maintenance Complex repairs with minimal support Diagnosis and repair of complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers/software Remote triage with RCRC and customers for roadside breakdowns Facility maintenance duties Interaction with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance, repair procedures and diagnostics Co‑achieve mentoring for other level technicians Advise shop management and staff on shop repairs Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation Work in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT) Perform other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support) Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check; road test; and/or customer‑oriented background and badge requirements.
