Serve as the single point of contact from the plant towards SLS Project Engineering/ Provide technical support and resolution of conflicts during project manufacturingThe CHS Product Engineering team is organized in the CHS Technical department, independent from the CHS manufacturing departments, and serves as the technical authority within the plantMaintains error/issue reporting and supports KPI publishing the Charleston (CHS) plantis responsible for manufacturing and testing of projects within the Subsea and Land Systems (SLS) business groupThe CHS plant Product Engineering team shall assure that the CHS plant is manufacturing and testing the projects according to agreed internal / external requirements and standardsThe plant Technical department shall provide technical support in time and with good quality, so the production is able to manufacture orders and meet its obligationsContextThe Charleston (CHS) plant is responsible for manufacturing and testing of projects within the Subsea and Land Systems (SLS) business groupThe CHS Product Engineering team is organized in the CHS Technical department, independent from the CHS manufacturing departments, and serves as the technical authority within the plantThe CHS plant Product Engineering team shall assure that the CHS plant is manufacturing and testing the projects according to agreed internal / external requirements and standardsThe plant Technical department shall provide technical support in time and with good quality, so the production is able to manufacture orders and meet its obligationsThe plant Technical department is responsible for continuous technical improvements and developmentsPurpose Be responsible for the relevant product segment in the plantServe as the single point of contact from the plant towards SLS Project EngineeringProvide technical support and resolution of conflicts during project manufacturingThe position may require international travel for training and/or support of customer activitiesArea of Responsibility Comply with company standards for safety, environment, and healthFollow and abide by the Nexans Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standardsSupport all phases of the product lifecycle, interfacing with the global technical, commercial, and project teams as requiredReview technical documents for commercial bids and provide input on plant capabilities and qualificationsCalculate the local manufacturing cost of subsea and land projectsReview applicable technical documentation following project award (i.e. cross section design, Test Procedures – Routine Testing and FAT, Internal Technical Description, Inspection and Test Plan)Responsible for and ensure that the product is manufactured / delivered according to requirementsCalculate optimal production plan to meet project requirements according to the process capabilitiesPrepare, release, and maintain revision control of technical specifications for manufacturingHost pre-process and process startup meetings. Distribute meeting minutes and follow-up assigned actionsParticipate in plant production and internal project meetingsSupport manufacturing variance analysis, root cause investigations, and implementation of improvement activitiesPerform statistical analyses of production and laboratory test dataPrepare and issue technical reports to internal stakeholdersContribute to development of manufacturing capability (ref product road maps, R&D projects) in collaboration with the plant Technical teamParticipate in internal/external technical meetings, R&D projects, and industry technical conferences on behalf of the plantCompetencies and Qualifications BSc or MSc engineering degree from an accredited universityExcellent written and verbal communication in the English languageApplication of standardsProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsExperience with statistical modeling software (SAS, Minitab, or other) and mathematical modeling software (Mathcad, MATLAB, or other)Experience with AutoCAD and 3D parametric modeling (Inventor, SolidWorks, or other) preferredProficient in usage of hand toolsAble to work at elevated heightsExperience in continuous manufacturing preferredPersonal:Customer satisfaction mindsetAbility to comprehend, apply, and describe complex scientific topics to othersProactive, adaptable, flexible, and resourceful with ability to work independentlyTeamwork, leadership, persuasion, and synthesis skillsExcellent presentation and facilitation skillsSystematic approachAble to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment and manage multiple priorities with several stakeholdersAbility to travel to Nexans’ international facilitiesCore competencies:Take responsibilityGlobal team playerHigh standards in excellencePeople leadership and initiativeCustomer and market focusGlobal vision
