Mechanical Repair Technician III - First Shift

Mechanical Repair Technician III – Landing Gear Location: Miami, Opa‑Locka, FL (Landing Gear Facility) Schedule: First Shift, Monday – Friday, 8×5 Employment type: Onsite Responsibilities Inspect landing gear components for damage and record condition/dimensions to determine repair or overhaul requirements following overhaul manuals and customer specifications. Assemble fabricated parts, components, or units at floor stations using calibrated precision measuring tools (caliper, dial bore, thread gauges). Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Use hand tools and power tools to polish and remove corrosion according to product specifications. Identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels; perform necessary repairs. Complete operation checkouts, modifications, disassembly, repairs, reassembly, test calibrations, diagnosis, and correction of problems. Follow repair and return processes to ensure high quality and short cycle time. Read and interpret blue‑print drawings. May be required to complete an apprenticeship or training program. Required Qualifications High‑school diploma (or equivalent, e.g., GED) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline. Minimum two years of relevant experience in aircraft maintenance or repair. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints. Proficiency in using close‑tolerance measurement instruments.
