Battery Module Senior Manufacturing Engineer

OverviewJoby Aviation is seeking a passionate Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Powertrain & Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Team in San Carlos, CA. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will lead the design and development of manufacturing equipment for Joby Aviation's battery modules, working closely with a cross-functional team. This individual must be highly organized and self-driven, with a deep understanding of mechanical, process, and industrial engineering fundamentals, to successfully scale projects from prototype to low-volume production while maintaining a vision for high-volume production. ResponsibilitiesDirect and/or participate in program-level strategy decisionsLead cross-functional work with Product Design and Test teams on process/equipment/tool development.Own and improve existing production workstations, tools, and procedures.Directly collaborate with the Production team to support trainingOwn design of new tools, equipment, and processes for upcoming projects.Author Manufacturing Execution System (MES) procedures for the production team to use.RequiredBS in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent6+ years of relevant industry experienceStrong mechanical engineering fundamentalsExcellent problem-solving and teamwork skills while working with cross-functional teamsPassion for diving into the details and providing constructive feedback to the team and other cross-functional teamsProactive, driven, and a self-starter personalityDesiredExperience in manufacturing in a regulated environment such as 14 CFR Part 21, ISO9001, ISO 13485, TS16949, or equivalentCompensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $98,400 - $164,700/yr.
