Position Overview

As a Construction Superintendent, you’ll oversee all day-to-day field operations from project start to completion. You’ll be responsible for leading crews, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to Grace Construction’s high standards.

While certain responsibilities may be delegated to foremen or lead personnel, you are ultimately responsible for the success of the jobsite. Your leadership, communication, and presence in the field will play the biggest role in keeping projects on schedule, within budget, and delivering exceptional quality.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Jobsite

• Lead all on-site construction activities.
• Supervise field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
• Provide clear direction while holding teams accountable.

Keep Projects Moving

• Execute and maintain project schedules.
• Develop and manage 4–12 week look-ahead schedules.
• Identify scheduling risks early and implement recovery plans when needed.
• Coordinate daily work between trades to maintain project momentum.

Deliver Quality Work

• Ensure all work meets plans, specifications, and building codes.
• Enforce Grace Construction’s quality standards.
• Verify work is completed correctly the first time.
• Conduct regular quality inspections throughout construction.

Communicate & Solve Problems

• Lead daily trade coordination and field communication.
• Address challenges before they impact the project schedule.
• Work closely with project managers, owners, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Support documentation, change orders, and project notices as needed.

Project Documentation

• Maintain accurate daily logs, photos, inspections, and field documentation using Microsoft Teams.
• Track project progress and percent complete.
• Identify scope changes and communicate potential cost impacts.

• Jobsites are organized, productive, and well-managed.
• Problems are identified and resolved before they become delays.
• Work is completed right the first time with exceptional quality.
• Strong, professional relationships are built with clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and the Grace Construction team.

Qualifications

Required

• Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent.
• Previous framing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple subcontractors and priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Preferred

• Experience with Microsoft Teams or similar project management software.
• OSHA safety training or certifications.

Working Conditions

• Combination of field and office work.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Occasional overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
