Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Services - OR Tech / Surgical Tech is responsible for supporting surgical operations in an acute care facility by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment. This role ensures the availability of surgical instruments and supplies, assists surgical teams during procedures, and maintains strict adherence to safety and sterilization protocols. The position requires a minimum of three years of experience, with a preference for five years, and involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care. Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and available.
• Assist surgeons and surgical staff during operations by passing instruments and anticipating needs.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols in the surgical environment.
• Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment following procedures.
• Manage inventory and restock surgical supplies as needed.
• Participate in unit float assignments and respond to call requirements as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing and surgical teams to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.

• Minimum of 3 years experience as an OR Tech or Surgical Tech; 5 years preferred.
• Current California state license preferred; pending license accepted.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Experience working in acute care or hospital surgical settings.
• Familiarity with multiple surgical specialties and procedures.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent.

• Call coverage is required.
• Float assignments to different units as needed.
• Weekend work required based on unit needs.
• No more than 7 days restriction on Return to Office (RTO) policies.
• Scrub attire or business casual dress code.

• Work schedule includes variable shifts aligned with surgical case schedules.
• Weekend shifts assigned per unit requirements.
• On-call duties as required to support surgical services.
