MEP Assistant Superintendent

Job Overview We are looking for an MEP Assistant Superintendent to develop skills for a career in technical MEP construction and management, working directly with the project MEP Superintendent conducting field inspections, progress updates, assisting with document control, equipment inspections, vendor coordination, and supporting the equipment startup and commissioning process. Responsibilities Maintain adherence to safety standards. Assist bidding mechanical and electrical trades. Ensure required documentation is filed. Assist in conducting project meetings and record minutes. Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project life. Assist in developing an MEP critical path schedule. Update project schedule and establish overall project logistics. Coordinate and track critical path construction and startup activities. Review mechanical and electrical submittals. Track and coordinate equipment deliveries. Collaborate with MEP Manager to resolve MEP issues. Coordinate and manage the quality control process for MEP systems construction. Manage startup and pretesting of mechanical and electrical systems. Coordinate third‑party commissioning activities. Manage commissioning documentation. Assist in managing the closeout process. Qualifications High school diploma required; a four‑year degree in construction, engineering, or business strongly preferred. 2–5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor. Passion for the construction industry. Ability to recognize and seek quality. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills; able to build and lead a team. Aptitude for problem solving. Ability to work independently. Motivated self‑starter. Effective use of computer and software technology. Willingness to travel. Salary In accordance with California’s Labor Code Section 432.3, the base salary range for this position is: $87,120.00 – $145,200.00. Compensation may vary in other cities and states.
