This role provides strategic leadership across cross-functional teams and serves as a critical partner in translating market insights into actionable business strategies.Strategic Leadership & Business ImpactDevelop and execute integrated marketing and business strategies aligned with organizational objectives.Translate market research and customer insights into actionable commercial plans and measurable business outcomes.Provide strategic recommendations to senior leaders and influence key business decisions.Commercial & Brand GrowthLead initiatives that strengthen brand awareness, advocacy, and customer engagement.Partner across functions to drive successful product lifecycle management and commercialization activities.Build and maintain external relationships that support long-term brand growth and reputation.Digital & Omnichannel ExcellenceLead development and execution of digital marketing strategies aligned with brand objectives.Drive performance across websites, SEO/SEM, email campaigns, digital media, web-based detailing, podcasts, and emerging channels.Measure, communicate, and optimize marketing effectiveness through data-driven insights and reporting.Operational ExcellenceLead multiple complex initiatives simultaneously while balancing organizational priorities.Manage budgets, resource allocation, and forecasting activities to support business goals.Ensure disciplined execution and delivery of strategic objectives.Team Leadership & CollaborationLead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.Foster collaboration across diverse functions, cultures, and stakeholder groups.Build alignment, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus to achieve business results.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree and 12 years of relevant experience; ORMaster's degree and 10 years of relevant experience; ORPhD and 8 years of relevant experiene. Preferred QualificationsMBA or advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD).Extensive pharmaceutical or biotechnology product lifecycle management experience.Prior people management experience.Experience in Direct-to-Patient (DTP), patient engagement, advocacy, or consumer-focused marketing.Expertise with digital marketing strategy, SEO/SEM, email marketing, analytics, websites, and omnichannel campaigns.Experience measuring and communicating marketing performance metrics.Experience working with advocacy organizations, community groups, or national health systems.Experience with social media strategy and execution.People Leader Accountabilities• Create Inclusion – knowing the business value of diverse teams, modeling inclusion, and embedding the value of diversity in the way they manage their teams.• Develop Talent – understand the skills, experience, aspirations, and potential of their employees and coach them on current performance and future potential. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
