The office of Counseling and PsychologicalServices (CAPS) provides comprehensive mental health services tosupport the psychological and emotional well-being of Wesleyanstudents. CAPS operates weekdays from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM withlimited evening appointments, as well as 24/7 clinician accessthrough an on-call rotation. CAPS utilizes a community health model that integrates clinicalservices with prevention, education, consultation, training for the students, and outreach to the broader campus community. Reporting to the Director of CAPS, the psychotherapist providesindividual and group psychotherapy to students presenting with abroad range of mental health and emotional concerns. The positionalso contributes to clinical assessment and risk management, consultation, outreach and prevention programming, and the trainingand supervision of clinical trainees. Responsibilities include: Provide individual and group psychotherapy for students with awide range of mental health concerns. Conduct clinical assessments and provide appropriate treatmentplanning, referrals, and coordination of care. Provide consultation regarding student mental health concernsto students, faculty, staff, administrators, and other campuspartners, as appropriate. Develop and provide mental health outreach, prevention,education, and training programs for students and the broaderWesleyan community. Collaborate with student organizations and campus partners, toidentify community needs and develop responsive programming andconsultation. Provide clinical supervision to trainees. Maintain clinical case files in accordance with legal, ethical,and professional standards. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. This is a 37.5-hour-per-week position that works 43 weeks duringthe calendar year and is off during the summer. The regular CAPSschedule is 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; this position is expected towork one evening per week to support limited evening appointmentavailability. Minimum Qualifications Masters degree in psychology, social work or a related fieldwith a minimum of two years of clinical professional experienceworking with clients who present with a broad range of mentalhealth concerns or an equivalent combination of education, trainingand experience. Current Connecticut Licensure as a Licensed Clinical SocialWorker (LCSW) in CT, or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) inCT, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in CT or licensedclinical or counseling psychologist (LP) in CT or eligibility toobtain the required Connecticut license upon hire. Demonstrated experience assessing and treating clientspresenting with acute, complex, and/or high-risk mental healthconcerns. Demonstrated ability to manage a substantial clinical caseloadand competing priorities in a fast-paced clinicalenvironment. Experience maintaining timely and accurate clinicaldocumentation of case files in accordance with legal, ethical, andprofessional standards. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary teamproviding comprehensive clinical support. Effective communication skills. Experience working with clients from historically marginalizedcommunities. Demonstrated commitment to working within a diverse environmentand interacting collegially with individuals of differentbackgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in clinical or counselingpsychology. Professional clinical experience working with lateadolescent/emerging adult population or college agepopulations. Experience providing clinical services in a college oruniversity counseling center. Experience developing and delivering mental health outreach,prevention, education, or training programs. Position is open until filled.
