Laboratory Technician (Intermediate)

Laboratory Technician (Intermediate) Pay Rate: $27 - $34/hour (on W2) Contract Length: 12 months Location: Baytown, TX 77520 Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Responsibilities Maintain laboratory safety, housekeeping, and security standards. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including viscometers, gas chromatographs, QUV Accelerated Weathering Testers, QFOG instruments, and other analytical testing equipment. Prepare samples and perform routine and non-routine analytical testing. Calculate, analyze, interpret, and accurately document test results. Maintain compliance with Quality requirements related to data generation and recordkeeping. Prepare liquid calibration standards and perform instrument calibrations and statistical quality control (SQC) checks to ensure data accuracy and compliance with established guidelines. Maintain laboratory inventory and update P&ID drawings as needed. Safely handle a variety of hydrocarbon samples and materials. Collaborate daily with Ph.D. chemists and other technical professionals to support research and testing activities. Assist in training and mentoring new technicians on laboratory procedures, analytical techniques, and safe work practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in science or engineering discipline, with relevant laboratory or industrial experience. Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and reliability in a laboratory environment. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to learn and apply new analytical techniques as needed. Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed procedures and instructions. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and precision. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to work with advanced laboratory and data management software. Looking for meaningful work?
