Senior Water/Wastewater Utility Engineer

STV’s Jacksonville, FL location is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Utility Engineer for our Water Practice Group. You’ll provide the ability to contribute immediately to Water and Wastewater (W/WW) project development and execution of varying sizes as part of a growing office.

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out. In this position you will perform design engineering tasks to lead the Project Team in the execution and delivery of water and wastewater linear projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Production of contract documents including plans, specifications and opinions of probable construction costs (OPCCs).
• Perform pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
• Prepare construction and design cost estimates.
• Perform engineering duties in planning and designing large and small diameter water and wastewater pipelines.
• Responsible for or willingness to learn project management, client interface and business development of future projects.
• Make site visits during design and construction to observe the construction installation.
• Review construction shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project design documents.
• Build and oversee staff

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited University or NCEES equivalent.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in water/wastewater projects.
• JEA project experience is a must.
• Horizontal Directional Drill experience is a plus
• Experience working with local municipalities and utility companies.
• FL PE License is required.
• Ability to work and communicate well will other design disciplines.
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with production tools, or modeling and design software is a plus.
