Field Services TechnicianThe Field Services Technician will be the face of LiveOak Fiber to each of our customers as you install and maintain their new service. This role is key to our success in the market, and we are seeking the very best to staff these positions.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstalls and repairs Active and Passive Optical Network systems in compliance with company technical standards from consumer service to exterior drop location.Install interior wiringConnect peripheral equipmentTrain customers on proper use of equipmentUnderstand/apply FCC and NESC technical standardsMaintain professional appearance and behavior at all timesMaintain excellent attendanceResponsible for motor vehicle per company policy including equipment & tool inventory, vehicle security and vehicle maintenancePerforms network troubleshooting including ping test, trace routes and speed testOther duties as assigned - which may include training other employeesKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong oral and written communications skillsOutstanding working knowledge of Fiber based Field OperationsDemonstrated leadership and teambuilding skills, including in cross functional teams and situationsProcess oriented, automation forward thinkerStrong leadership and motivational skills to steer large field organizationBasic Qualifications & CompetenciesAble to interact with customers to present technical information to a non-technical audienceAble to work independentlyAble to accurately measure distances using tapes and other measuring devicesAble to accurately maintain records, logs, reports, work orders, etc.Able to handle escalations and time-critical issuesAble to read street mapsAble to work flexible hours as required, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shiftsMust have a valid driver's license and good driving recordMust be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.Preferred Qualifications & Competencies2 years' experience as a field service technicianElectrical or industry certificationsYou LOVE field servicesPhysical Demands & Working EnvironmentWalking- up to 40%Standing- up to 35%Reaching- up to 55%Lifting and/or bending- up to 55%Work environment- indoors and outdoorsAble to lift 50 poundsTravel: up to 10%STATEMENTThe qualification requirements, physical demands, and work environment characteristics described in this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job successfully.This job description in no way states or implies that the essential duties described are the only responsibilities involved in the position.
