Adjunct Professor for Offensive Security (Graduate Standing)

New York University: NYU - NY: Tandon School of Engineering: Computer Science & Engineering We invite applicants to teach one or more graduate courses, specifically Offensive Security with a hands‑on approach. Candidates should hold a MS or Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline, have a record of practical industry experience in this area, and a real passion for teaching. Instruction will be delivered both online and in‑person at NYU Tandon’s Brooklyn campus. Course Overview Offensive Security trains students in Capture the Flag (CTF) challenges, reverse engineering x86_64 assembly, exploit strategies for compiled binaries, common web application vulnerabilities, and cryptographic implementation flaws. Learning Objectives Assess the logic of compiled code via binary reverse engineering and solve programming challenges based on the functionality of the binary. Employ memory corruption tactics and strategies to exploit compiled binaries. Recognize web‑based vulnerabilities and develop relevant attacks. Assess cryptographic implementations to identify vulnerabilities and write related exploits. Apply course‑related CTF challenges to real‑world software. Compete in future CTF competitions. Qualifications • MS or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline. • Extensive practical experience in offensive security. • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with a strong record of teaching evaluations or a clear teaching philosophy. • Ability to work both online and on‑campus.
