The College of Arts & Humanities The Mission of the College of Arts & Humanities is to provide for all university students robust, cross‑disciplinary curricula that cultivate intellectual, moral, and aesthetic virtues within a Christian community. Position Summary Houston Christian University seeks Online Adjunct Professors to join the Department of Philosophy, History, Law, and Society with the ability to teach Introduction to Government/Political Science survey classes. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Adjunct needs change from semester to semester. Job Responsibilities Utilize a course syllabus for each course and follow established departmental and institutional guidelines. Provide timely, quality access to students via personal consultation, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods. Evaluate students by established means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and to inform them in a timely manner of their progress. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community. Submit paperwork and forms in a timely fashion. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications MA or PhD in Government/Political Science. Teaching experience preferred. Ability to teach survey courses in Introduction to Government and/or Political Science in a manner consistent with the University’s Christian mission and values. Physical Requirements Computer access and availability. No residential presence required.
